Bittersweet!

We had a very wonderful event held on our grounds last December 21, 2023.  It was the wedding celebration of Soksoeun (Srey Toyt) and Sudipto Sangma.  Srey Toyt was raised here at Power of Grace Children's Home.  We sent her to the Philippines to study to become a teacher.  There she met Sudipto, a Christian young man from Bangladesh, studying to become a Pastor.  They fell in love and decided to become life partners.  Srey Toyt is a very huge help in our Children's Home, in our academy and in our church.  While we would prefer to have Srey Toyt and enjoy her company and help around our ministries, we are very excited to see her serve the Lord in another country and culture together with her husband.  It's an amazing development that one Cambodian girl raised in a Children's Home ends up becoming a missionary wife in a foreign field.  God's work and ways are truly unfathomably amazing!  You can never tell what God can do in the lives of the people you help reach with the Gospel. 

AIC @ the Regional Students' Convention!

 Academy International Cambodia was invited to participate in the Regional Students' Convention held at Chiang Mai, Thailand from November 26 to December 1, 2023.  Because of the distance and the high cost of travel, we were able to bring just 5 student delegates.  However, the rare experience for our students made the trip and the effort well worth it. Our students competed in multiple events and each of our 5 students received at least 1 medal each.  Most notable of the awards our students obtained were the 16 year-old and above Preaching Contest where Joseph Poole won the First Place and the Mixed Trio where our entry (Megaera Bastes, Joseph Poole and Thomas Uy) won First Place and did a Command Performance in one of the evening rallies!  Congratulations students!  All Glory belongs to Lord alone!   

   

Power of Grace Children's Home

 It's amazing to see how our children at Power of Grace seem to be growing quite so fast.  Two more boys finished their degrees in Engineering while another 2 boys and 2 girls finished their high school and are getting ready to go to college.  Looking back to the time when we first saw these children, the idea of them growing to become productive young adults was a very remote possibility.  Most important of all, these youngsters have come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and it's just an amazing and very fulfilling thought seeing how the Lord is graciously transforming these young lives. Thank you everyone for helping us to be able to help these children.     

CBBC - Building Construction Begins!

A Brighter Future!

We thank you all for your prayers and support for the Power of Grace Children’s Home.  The children are all doing well physically.  Of course, we have to struggle with discipline and other character issues.  However, it is always a joyful and satisfying feeling to see these children able to finish college and given a better opportunity for a brighter future.  Thank you very much for helping us help these children.

CBBC Building Project!

By the blessings of the Lord, we were able to do the dedication and groundbreaking ceremony to the start the construction for a permanent home for Cambodia Baptist Bible College and Academy International Cambodia last August 26.  We have several of our missionary friends on the field and many of our local Pastors who were graduates of Cambodia Baptist Bible College present during the groundbreaking service.  We already have the piles for the foundation put in for the columns.  We are currently finalizing the contracts for segments of the construction work.  We are excited to have the first group of workers start working on the columns within this month.  Please help pray that we will have the finances needed to finish the building substantially enough for use around this time next year.

New Mission Work

 We rejoice with Bro. Bunthan Sophea over some initial fruits from his new mission work.  He is seeing more and more people come to their services in their makeshift place of worship.  Just recently they baptized 4 new believers.  Please continue to pray that we will have sufficient funds to be able to help Bro. Sophea to fully pay for their property and to help build a permanent and more presentable place of worship for the brethren.

AIC Awards Banquet 2023

We held our Annual Awards Banquet at Academy International Cambodia last July 8.  It is always a great feeling to witness the step-by-step development of young lives as they learn to read and write and especially in learning Scriptures and coming to salvation through faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.  This year’s year end program is highlighted by the graduation of 2 Senior High School students who both started in our Learning to Read Program.

CBBC Building Project!

We started development on this property during the last quarter of 2022.  This will be the future permanent home for the Cambodia Baptist Bible College.  We have about 20% of the funds for the construction.  The plan is to start building when we reach 50% of the budgeted construction cost.  Hopefully before the last quarter of this year, we can start on the foundation for a 4-storey building.  Please help us with the finances and also in prayers so that this project can be launched and completed as soon as possible.
