CBBC School Year 2013-2014

We just held our Orientation Day at Cambodia Baptist Bible College last October 16, 2013.  A total of 30 students are presently enrolled at CBBC, there are 12 First years, 13 Second Years and 5 Third years.  We covet your prayers for these Cambodian brethren that they will stay faithful and eventually be equipped properly to become the workers in the harvest field of Cambodia and even in the neighboring countries around here.  Please help pray and continue to support CBBC so that we can continue in the task of training Cambodians to reach their own people.  Please remember also to pray for our missionary friends and Cambodian Pastors who are faithfully helping teach at CBBC. 

Valdez 5 + 1

Our trip back home in the Philippines last July and August was filled with the Lord’s blessings.  We thank you all for your prayers for the wedding of our eldest son, TJ, to MaeAn.  The wedding was a very beautiful ceremony and it was so good to have many of our relatives and close friends in attendance.  Please pray for TJ and MaeAn as they build their new family together.  Maybe this is the beginning of a new phase in slow growth of the Mike Valdez clan!

CBBC Graduation 2013

We at Cambodia Baptist Bible College held a Baccalaureate service for our graduating students last July 5.  Last July 6, 6 men and 2 ladies walked the platform to receive their certificates of 3 years of Bible study and ministry training.  There were actually 9 graduates this year but one student was not able to make it to the program as he was on a special mission survey trip.   Dr. Mario L. De Ocampo, Dean at Baptist Bible College at Bethany Baptist Church in Makati, Philippines, did a wonderful job in bringing challenging messages both for the baccalaureate and graduation services.  Please pray that our graduates from CBBC will be strong and stay faithful in the Lord’s work.

New Place of Worship for GBC-Kandal Steung

With the help of friends from Waterloo Baptist Church in Waterloo, Georgia, Bro. Siem Bunthol was able to put up a new roof for a more comfortable and convenient place of worship for the brethren at Grace Baptist Church – Kandal Steung Mission.

Always Abounding in the Work of the Lord

With the theme of “Always Abounding in the Work of the Lord”, we held our 5^th World Missions Conference at Grace Baptist Church – Anlong K’ngan from May 15-17.  The conference programs highlighted preaching and reporting from our Cambodian Pastors.  GBC-Anlong K’ngan is currently involved in helping support 10 missionary families and 11 local pastors.  Our GBC family has grown somewhat through the recent adoption of a new work at a place called Chomka Dong in a pocket community within the perimeter of Phnom Penh city.
