Maintenance, Repairs and Replacements!

We thank the Lord and all of our friends and supporting churches for Power of Grace Children's Home.  The past few months, we did have sufficient for our basic necessities.  Hopefully our support level will stabilize.  However, emergency situations do knock us off balance every now and then.  At this time, we need some extra funds for overall building maintenance and repairs as well as equipment repairs or even replacement.  Our building is 10 years old now and an overall maintenance is long overdue.  One of our vans (a 21-year old Korean van) is in the shop having major engine and body repairs at this moment!  We definitely need some financial help for these needs.

GBC - Srok Bati, Takeo Province

Bro. Koung Sothea and his wife, Rina, have been working in this ministry for several years now.  This is a place several kilometers away from their home where they have another mission work. The work in this area is quite difficult and progress is rather slow but we praise the Lord for their faithfulness.  Most of their attendees here are younger children, many of whom would be helping in their parents' farms and so unable to be in church on a regular basis.  Last week, Pastor Sothea has baptized 3 young people who have trusted the Lord as their Savior.  Please pray for Bro. Sothea and his family and the people they are trying to reach with the Gospel in this part of Cambodia.  Please pray that the parents of these young people would come to the saving knowledge of the Lord too.  Please help pray also for sufficient funds as Pastor Sothea looks for a suitable property for a permanent building for their church and ministries.

Commit Thou to Faithful Men....

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).  This verse sums up quite appropriately the mandate for Cambodia Baptist Bible College.  We thank the Lord for young people, men and women, who are heeding to the call of the Lord to take the Gospel to their own people and to others around them.  While the number may not be in droves, one worker at a time, we try to help populate the harvest fields of Cambodia with men and women who have been taught to faithfully handle the Word of God!  Praise the Lord for fellow missionaries and helpers like Preacher MienPastor Vanna and Pastor Sothea!

Teaching at Highlands!

About once a year or so, I volunteer to teach at the Highlands Bible College here in Cambodia.  While the schedule would take me out from my regular routine as the place is over 100 kilometers away from Phnom Penh, I welcome the opportunity as teaching Bible college students is one of of the most effective ways to speed up the recruitment and the enablement of laborers here in this mission field and even beyond.  This is the fist time that I taught 2 classes simultaneously in one block, Hermeneutics (2nd years) and Pastoral Theology (3rd years).  It was a such a very tiring schedule for 2 weeks but its was a real fulfilling endeavor.  On the last day of our Pastoral Theology class, a young man came to me and said "Thank you very much, Pastor, for all the the things you taught us here in this class.  I have learned a lot in this class on how to become a better church worker and helper to my Pastor."  Wow, that young man has learned something!

CBBC Talents Festival 2018!

Other than teaching Bible doctrine, preaching and teaching children, students at CBBC are provided with opportunities to help hone and enhance their skills in singing and in playing musical instruments.  Skills that are profitable for present and future ministries.  Every year we hold singing and musical skills competition.  This year we had a great time watching our students showcase some of these skills.  We thank the Lord for students who are willing to learn and to prepare themselves for the Lord's work.
